21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Notice:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida (BGCNF) has applied for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program grant on behalf of the following clubs and schools.  Per federal statute, the organization is providing information to the community.

5.1       Project Abstract / Summary - (Pending Approval by 21st CCLC)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida (BGCNF) will offer Project EARTH - Ready programming at the NFL Youth Education Town Boys & Girls Club (YET) to students from Brentwood Elementary (60); Matthew Gilbert Middle (30) and Andrew Jackson High (30) schools in the following five learning areas: 

E          Entrepreneurship

A          Academic Learning

R         Readiness – Work & Life Skills

T          Technology

H         Healthy Living

Project EARTH – Ready programming serves children 1st – 12th grade by fostering entrepreneurial thinking in every day actions.  In addition, Project EARTH – Ready programs are designed to focus the development of self through academic learning, work and life skills, and healthy living initiatives to thrive in the world in which they live.

All students are provided up to five (5) hours of academic enrichment to meet the needs of their school core curriculum in the STEM and literacy areas. For the 10 remaining hours, all students are engaged in EARTH - Ready project-based and experiential learning utilizing our very own Ready 4 Veggies Bus, Woodland Acres Farm, NFL Flag Football League and 2018 Citi Teen Center as vehicles to integrate our research-based and field-tested programs developed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).  BGCNF collaborates with Junior Achievement, Project SOS and the Culinary Arts Initiative with the goal to provide engaging and innovative learning environments.  All programs listed in our Project EARTH – Ready program have curricula and pre- and post- testing measurements to assess a child’s growth.  Student Ratios:  Academic / Certified Teachers 10:1 and Enrichment / Non Academic 20:1

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida (BGCNF) offers Project STEAM+L (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math plus Literacy) at THE PLAYERS Championship Club at 555 West King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in collaboration with The Webster School located at 420 North Orange Street, St. Augustine, Florida to 60 1st – 5th grade elementary students.

All students are provided academic learning and enrichment programs as follows:  Five (5) hours weekly of academic learning that will be split between two locations:  The Webster School-three (3) hours each week and THE PLAYERS Championship Club-two (2) hours each week to meet the needs of their school core curriculum.  For the 10 remaining hours, all students are engaged in enrichment activities including literacy and math enrichment activities, robotics & STEM learning, healthy living initiatives including gardening and culinary arts, and finally, the arts…including music, dance and visual art.  Student Ratios:  Academic / Certified Teachers 10:1 and Enrichment / Non Academic 20:1
