Work up a sweat with CrossFitters from Salt de Terre gym on Saturday, Sept. 28th, for a very special special “workout of the day” in honor of fallen Coast Guard Lieutenant, Thomas Cameron. The event will raise funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida programs throughout Duval County.

About Thomas Cameron:
Thomas Cameron, 24, was a U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant Junior Grade, of Portland, Oregon. He was a good friend of one of Salt de Terre's favorite Coaches and fellow Coast Guard, Lt. Shea Quinn. Cameron died on February 28, 2012, when his unit's helicopter crashed into Mobile Bay in the Gulf of Mexico during a training mission. We will say a short remembrance, then workout in his honor and memory.

About Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida:
Established on July 23, 1962, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is an after-school youth-development organization that serves children, ages 6 – 18, through quality, educational after-school programs. Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is an independent local chapter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America - the Nation’s largest youth serving organization.

With 27 Clubs strategically located to serve those who need us most in Duval and St. Johns County, during the school year we serve an average of 2,800 Club members every day and over 2,000 members during the summer.

Our professional staff inspire and enable our Club members to succeed by offering a broad range of programs that promote maturity in five core areas: (1) Character and Leadership Development; (2) Education and Career Development; (3) Health and Life Skills; (4) The Arts; and (5) Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. We want every young person who walks through our doors to graduate from high school with a plan for their future, and demonstrate good character, citizenship and live a healthy lifestyle.
