As a former Jacksonville City Hall department head and advertising agency owner, Martinez describes his new position as the "best job in the city."
Sen'Derrick Marks Visits Boys & Girls Club Jaguars defensive lineman, Sen'Derrick Marks, spent time with the members of the NFL Youth Educational Town to share the importance of education and working towards their goals. After speaking, Marks engaged in different fun activities with the members, including jumping in on a Club favorite, Nine Square.
'Behind-the-scenes guy' honored for supporting Boys & Girls Club in Arlington Retired Jacksonville banker Baxter Luther has been a benefactor of the club since its inception in 1972. Friday, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida and Rotary thanked him for his efforts with a barbecue lunch and reception. Also, they rededicated the club’s pavilion as the Baxter E. Luther Pavilion.
Fernandina Beach Teenager Wins Boys & Girls Club Award
A 15-year-old Fernandina Beach High School freshman who says she has tried to help her community and be a good example for others has been named the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida’s Youth of the Year.
Demetria Pollard receives a $1,000 scholarship as well as another $1,000 award as the Miller Freedom Center Boys and Girls Club’s nominee in the upcoming state Youth of the Year competition in May in Miami Beach.
